I'm compiling a wish list of books to read with my dd (age 2) over the coming months. My mom and other close friends are already looking for books for her along the lines of "I'm Going to be a big sister" but I would like to give them some recommendations that show newborn babies nursing- maybe even toddlers nursing too? Maybe some realistic-looking newborn babies?<br><br>
The one book we have now is about a turtle boy whose mommy has a baby in her tummy.... ummm... anyone see something wrong with the biology here?? <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngtongue.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Stick Out Tongue">

Our Ds really loved the book <i>Our New Baby</i> By Wendy Cheyette Lewison. It is all real pictures of real families. It has a bit of a late eighties early ninties traditional feel But it shows the a baby nursing with a toddler in moms lap as well, although not nursing <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/shrug.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="shrug"> . There are families from different ethnic back grounds and siblings of all ages. The only bottle being shown is given by a big sister so it could be ebm. The only thing I didn't like was a paragraph about how the new baby gets all the attention and ITS NOT FAIR but DH and I just talk about how the little boy in the picture was feeling instead!<br><br>
