In the past few years, I've had several stomach bugs. I don't get sick very often, so I know I shouldn't complain, but it seems odd to me that for someone who got had stomach "flu" maybe three or four times between childhood and age 38, now it's a couple times a year. Sometimes I'm not sure if it's a real illness, or if I start getting so nervous it's a real illness that I get an upset stomach. Twice this year, though, it's clearly been a virus: fever, achy joints, headache, gut cramps.
Anybody have any ideas for strengthening my immune system against these tummy bugs? I eat a varied diet--could always stand to add more vegetables, I'm sure--and since my latest round of GI distress last week have been doing daily probiotics (jarrow).
Any and all feedback is appreciated!
