Bored and Procrastinating *UPDATE: I'M DONE!*

I'm ending my quarter. (woo hoo!) I have a big project due Monday that I have barely gotten a start on. I am procastinating, surfing MDC for a long time tonight.

I'm BORED! Bored, bored, bored, bored. I was goign to lurk on the dating thread to see how everyone's weekend was, but either some of you are busy having some great dates, or it was uneventful.

I read the empath thread in Spirituality, and it got me thinking, wondering if everyone has some empath qualities. I certainly get uncomfortable and feel all weird when I am around people who I know are feeling negatively. When I'm around dischord, I feel dischord. When I'm around joy, I feel joy. To what degree do you have to experience that to be an empath?

Dd is beautiful. I love her so much it hurts. Tonight when she was falling asleep she snuggled her face up so close to me and just looked in my eyes for a while with this little smile on her face.

I'm reading Protecting the Gift by Gavin de Becker. I really wanted to read it for a long time, and it is a good book, but I'm always disappointed when I buy parenitng books with these high expectations, becuase it seems like everything in it is just "duh!" I mean, PTG is a great book, but he hasn't presented anything I havent already thought of before. It's just that he has taken all of the thoughts and opinions I already have, and organized them in a nice neat format.

I guess I better go work on my project now. *sigh*

Did I mention I was bored?

Yep! I know about that end of the semester procrastination /boredom... hang in there and JUST FINISH THE DARN PROJECT!

Hey Mocha, I didn't mean to yell at you, but you sound so much like me. I finished up my semester last week, and I couldn't bring myself to even study for my finals... I had it bad. I too surfed MDC to procrastinate and read the empath thread in the Spirituality forum. It's really interesting stuff.

CONGRATULATIONS on completing your semester! You worked so very hard, and I'm sure you did well. Remember to celebrate, and take some time to rejoice in your success.

You are one strong mama!

I can totally relate!! I am supposed to be studying for my teacher certification test that I have to take next weekend, and here I am instead.
Like you, I find it's so hard to get motivated these days.
I think we should "blame" our procrastination on all the other MDCers though... they need us to be here and support them, so we must fulfill our civic duty before we can finish our personal ones.
That's a valid excuse not to study, right?!

Ha! I finished my project with one hour to spare! I just handed it in!

And now, I must begin my project that is due tomorrow........the end is in sight....

Thanks for the heads-up on that thread. If I can ever get Adam to stay asleep (teething and wants to use my nipples as a teether), then I'll read it.
