My dd is 12 months and I am still nursing. Lately, for the past 2 weeks or so, it's been a bit uncomfortable when I do nurse her. I'm not sure what it is. It feels almost like soreness when she starts nursing and then has the other breast starts to fill, I can feel the soreness on that breast as well. The soreness is around the nipple area and not so much on the actual breast. Sometimes, even if she is not on the breast, they will start to feel uncomfortable. She does have a few teeth and I thought that maybe it was that, but I am not sure. Could it be something more serious?

Could be a plugged duct starting- any new bras lately?<br><br>
Or it could be her resting her teeth on you when she nurses- look for marks right after she's nursed.<br><br>

New bras? Nah...I really hate wearing bras, so I rarely do unless I am going out. I thought that maybe it was that about teeth, but I can't really tell. I'll check for marks.<br><br>

If it's a plugged duct it will either get better (then no worries) or worse- and you'll know it- then you will need to try to get her to nurse it out or massage it out yourself.<br><br>
Here's hoping it's just passing teeth stuff.<br><br>

Have you gotten your period back yet? I had nipple soreness before I got my first pp period. I thought it wa teeth, but it wasn't. Hope you feel better soon.<br><br>

I highly doubt that I am pregnant. Although I do anything is possible, I just don't think I am nor do I feel like I am. How would being pregnant affect nursing and my soreness?

No, I still haven't gotten my period back and a few weeks ago I thought I would start any day. Now, I don't feel like that anymore, I'm just still waiting around for Aunt Flo to come around.

I've had a week here and there of horrible nipple soreness that seemed to have no cause. It happened around 8 months and then again around 10 months. I never found out the cause, because it went away as suddenly as it came.<br><br>
It could be teeth. I know I can tell when DD is using her teeth a little too much. I have to remind her to be gentle sometimes.

I would take a HPT if I were you! Nipple soreness and/or discomfort nursing is often one of the first symptoms. They also say "feeling like AF is coming but it never does" is a common symptom... Let us know what you find out!!
