Hi,

I will be in Boulder and in Denver next week and am hoping to find a store(s) where I can try on some baby slings to see what works for me (I'm a Bjorner right now : because I couldn't figure out the sling we were given and I think I need major remedial help figuring them out).

I'm leaning towards a pouch or ring-sling btw. I need something I can do lots of stuff in most especially, nurse a babe or babe nap while I do other things.

Crossposted to the babywearing boards. TIA!

Under the Cabbage Leaf has a couple different carriers you could try. I'm sure there are some stores in boulder and probably more in Denver, I'll get back to you tomorrow if I find out what and where they are

Under the Cabbage Leaf in Littleton (SW of Denver) has the following:
Maya Wrap (regular, lightly padded, Maya Ties, and a few pouches)
Moby Wraps
Gypsy Mamma Wraps
Ergo
Hotsling Pouches

Becoming Mothers in Boulder also carries carriers. I haven't been in a while but last I saw, they have Mayas, Ergos, and New Native Pouches.

Hope that helps!

Thanks so much!

I will see whether we can make it to one or both stores while we're there. I know we should have some shopping time in Boulder for sure - I'll just have to convince our companions that a visit to a Baby Store is a good idea. I checked out the Littleton shop's website, it looks like a cool store.

In all fairness, I feel I should disclose that I am the owner of Under the Cabbage Leaf (hence my knowledge of what we carry). I was feeling kind of bad for not mentioning that last time. I will also mention that the website is way outdated, so there is much more in the store than you see on the site. But we may be out of your way if you are only going to Denver.

As for Becoming Mothers, I am friends with the owner. It is a fantastic store. You will be happy with what they have there!

Both stores are Maternity & Nursing focused. We are also baby focused, with cloth and carriers and clothes.

I just found Becoming Mothers' website:
http://www.becomingmothers.com/

I don't know what Becoming Mothers carries, but the owner is a LC and is really wonderful and helpful.

Oddly enough, we didn't have time to shop in Boulder but did head to Littleton (shopped at Denver Fabrics and A Knitted Peace as well) - so I made it to Under the Cabbage Leaf. It is a great shop! I recommended it to my (not crunchy) SIL in hopes she will check it out and get a Moby wrap for her little preemie.

I now have a Nori (which I would never have purchased based on pix online but quite like), and a ringsling -- the staff was awesome and helpful and gave me a huge "tutorial" on how to wear pouches, ringslings, and wraps. I am still a bit challenged but I think I'm going to get the hang of it this time! Am going to order Tummy2Tummy as I think that will help, too .... I think my aunt will bring me a length of Guatemalan fabric next time she's home from Guatemala, so I can use that as a wrap, too. I'm hoping to get a lot more practice at everything as it warms up outside.

Thanks for the suggestions! You definitely helped me out!
