I didn't really do this on purpose... well, except with #3 I realized we had a trend going. But by that time, it was the only name that resonated with me. Our boys' names are: Aaron, Kian, and Taegan. I know we don't NEED to choose a fourth name that follows a similar pattern, but there aren't really any other boy names crying out to me, either.

I tend to prefer names that don't lend themselves to "babyish" nicknames... johnny, davey, tommy, etc. I don't mind short, simple nicknames so much (I'd be fine with Cam for Camden, for instance). Also, we need at least a two-syllable first name, as our last name is one-syllable, and I think John Smith type names are too plain. I'd prefer to stay away from the MOST popular names. And, I don't want the name to sound TOO similar to any of the other three boys.

I have a list of brainstromed names. If we decide to go this route, I could use some help narrowing down some names. So, go ahead and be critical. Which names would you take off the following list? Why?

Or, if you have other suggestions that aren't on here, let me know.

I didn't see Nathan on that list. It's classic, not too popular and doesn't lend itself to a babyish nickname.

From your list, my favorites are Simon, Solomon and Julian.

I agree, but our last name is the same as a famous Nathan, and dh doesn't like the name. So, that's why it's not on the list.

If you all keep adding names, you're not helping me narrow things down, lol!

Paeta, a lot of your names belong to family members or other people we know, which is why they're not on the list. Thanks for the suggestions, though!

So... which names do you HATE.

I don't like the Sheriden name because it sounds kind of girlie to me. The same for a few of the others. But names are just so personal and individual.

Congrats on the babe.

The names I don't like (the most) are:
Alan
Farren - sounds too girly IMO.
Paden
Elan
Walden - I can see a NN of waldo developing.
Perrin
Doran

Choosing names is SO hard! I cannot imagine being in your position and having to choose another boy's name! DH and I are having a difficult time coming up with another girl's name we like and we only have one other child!!

From your list my faves are:

Camden, Corbin, Griffin, Julian, Dalton, Owen, Quentin, Simon. I guess you could say I'd toss the rest! Not for any reason other than personal taste.

Mama of a Griffin here! I love the name, and don't know very many boys with that name at all.
