I'm really obsessed with the question of what I'm having!!!

I have the full long scan a week from Thursday.

I do actually have some hopes to have a boy, we started the pregnancy hoping that way. But as I get more pregnant, I don't care. I haven't had any gut feelings one way or the other but have had a lot of girl dreams - but I also had one boy dream. Of course... we want a happy healthy baby and would be happy with a boy or a girl. We just had a boy's name picked out a long time ago and sort of saw the family starting that way in our mental pictures.

We bought some baby name books and found a girl's name that we love this weekend so now we have both a boy's name and a girl's name that we love. That does make things better. And I hung out with an adorable baby girl (1yo) last week, and it really made me feel

Anyone else on pins and needles on this?

I know the scan might not even tell definitively but I figure with an hour or so checking around we're bound to run into some genetalia.

I also feel totally guilty about wanting one - as though I don't want the other - and can't wait to have a semi definitive answer (it's always a question till birth I think). I want to start really bonding if it's a girl and sort of repenting for feeling one way or the other. aah guilt.

I have a boy preference too but I think it's a girl which just makes me want to find out more.

In the same boat here, hoping for a boy but thinking it's a girl (several girl dreams, just one boy dream) but we'll be happy either way. I don't feel guilty because I know I'll love him or her just the same with all my heart. I originally wanted to wait until birth by DH vetoed that & we're going to have the 20 week scan to find out. I have to admit, it's going to make shopping a lot easier.

oh it makes me happy to hear you guys say this!!! Glad I'm not alone in this.

I wonder about the dreams... dreams are so not literal you know? The baby could be you - (or your ego or whatever freudian stuff right).

Anyway... update as you find out!

I have friends with so much boy stuff to donate.

I've gotten a head start on collecting 2nd hand clothes & surprisingly I've really fallen in love with all this gender neutral stuff. Kind of makes me want to wait (til birth) even more but DH isn't having it. =)

I can't wait to find out!

I was suppose to go for the scan 2 days before christmas but with my OB bailing on me my new midwife has me scheduled for a week later. :( It would have been a nice surprise to tell everyone on Christmas Day. Oh well.

With my first I ALWAYS dreamed I gave birth to a boy...I ended up with a girl. This time around I've been having dreams about giving birth to a girl so we will see if I just dream the opposite of what i'm having.

We waited until birth to find out about our "son" shine..but this time around I am definitely feeling that I really want to know. I keep going back and forth on it...i'd like it to be a surprise, but it truly is a surprise one way or another, right? Plus, if it is a girl, I'd love to start donating the rest of our boy stuff and work on getting some girl clothes in house ..seems easier to prepare? My MIL is appalled that I would even consider finding out LOL...most everyone around me is hoping for a girl, although Traftyn (our DS) is wanting a little boy to play with..yet he keeps referring to the baby as "she" Hmmm??? For his sake a boy would be nice, as all of his immediate cousins are girls (he has 5 of them).

I guess only time will tell LOL

I've had several girl dreams and one boy dream too! Hubby wants a boy and I want a girl...but I'll be happy either way. We're hoping our OB lets us go a week earlier than our next appt so we can find out 2 days before xmas and tell everyone on Christmas!

I can't WAIT to find out!! My 20wk u/s is scheduled for the 18th, which puts me at just shy of 20 weeks. However, I am so tempted to call tomorrow to try to move it a week earlier, when I'll be just shy of 19 weeks. I am just sooooo curious!!

I have a preference for a girl ONLY because this baby is due on DD's birthday, so we already have all the girl clothes! But, if it turns out to be a boy, I will be thrilled and have lots of fun shopping for him.

i'm going crazy about this!

and the worst thing is i can't get in for my full scan until i am 21.5 weeks along because the ultrasounds are all booked up until then. that is SIX WEEKS AWAY!!!!! ARGH!

but in reality i think it will go fairly quickly...it would have been nice to know around christmas but ... oh well. and it's christmas, i have exams and final projects, we do a handmade christmas so we are busy with that, we just got accepted into a housing co-op (YES! more on this later in the one thread) and are moving january 1st and then i am starting up school again on the 3rd or something so i'm definitely too busy to be concerned about it.

but seriously, i am going a bit nuts obsessing over whether or not we have a girl!

I'm not strongly hoping for one gender over the other. On one hand a boy would be nice, so 2yods could have a playmate. On the other hand I love, love, love girls and would be totally thrilled with another one. 3yodd insists that it's a girl, and strangely enough usually my little ones are right, like they have this intuition or something. Actually I kind of think it's a girl too and will be pretty surprised if it's a boy. I'll find out in a couple of days!!

I can't wait to find out :) We should know when we do our Rh genotyping. Haven't decided if we want an u/s or not. Dh and I both have a preference but for different genders, lol. I really just want to know at this point :)

kmb holy late sonogram appointment, batman!

1 week from today...

DH and I were talking about it last night and we now have absolutely dynamite names (first and middle) for boy and girl... and I'm feeling so much less guilty about having wanted one over the other for many months. I don't know why but I was starting to feel guilty.

Now I'm looking forward to the appointment results no matter what - just hoping for a healthy baby.

It's ok, Rylee - I'm in the same boat. our appointment is on Dec. 21st... so it'll be a nice little christmas present for us, I guess? But still - it's so far away. I had the option of having it the same week I got the referral, but then realized that I still had paperwork that needed to get done first so had to go with a later date - and that later date wasn't until the end of December. Grumble!
