Anyone else have one or two super cute dipes with a bit of pink on them they just can't see giving away because the fit is awesome and whatnot?
Me and a friend were having a conversation about boys wearing pink or slightly girlish colors like fushia, plum, yellow...
I don't see what the big deal is about colors being so gender related. Seems like every diaper I have is either for girl or boy, not many "neutral".
I made a few diapers with pink in them before ds was born "just in case" it was a girl, and now he wears them anyway!

Of course DH thinks it's very un-manly, but only to an extent, not like I'm parading him down 5th Av in a dress with ribbons. LOL!

The newborn/small diapers I have been gathering for this baby to be are neutral, girly, and boyish. So if it's a boy, he'll be wearing a bit of pink, and if it's a girl, she'll be wearing blue.

I personally consider purple to be neutral, but then I'm not very picky about that kind of stuff.

I've put girly things on our baby boy's bum before, it's caused testosterone fits with big brub and daddy before too but they're slowly getting better about it. Pee absorbs in pink just as well as it does in blue

My definition of "gender neutral" is broader than most too I think, flowers don't *have* to be just for girls depending on how they're done, trucks aren't just for boys.

I don't see the big deal either and DH doesn't seem to notice when I put DS in "girly" colors. He's been known to wear lavender, purple, and raspberry.

Oh, beware of putting girlie colors on a boy! I've heard that their manhood can fall off and they can turn into a girl! Flowers are only for girls... and bugs only for boys. Pink is only for girls, because boys can react chemically to them and turn into girls.

All joking aside... I think it's fine to put some flowers, pink, yellow, purple, etc on a boy. I can assure you, it won't change his gender, or his gender preference later in life.

And, as a side note, my little son threw a fit in the store when he was 3 for some pink sparkly jellies. I wish I would have just gotten them for him instead of being so bent on, "Those are for girls" as if girls aren't the same humans as boys. It's interesting to notice now that the worst insult you can give a boy is to call them a girl... as though girls are less than human. Maybe we can all change that thinking?

It's a cultural thing.
I think they do it the other way around in England.
I'm not sure, so if I'm wrong, don't beat me down! LOL
