Can anyone recommend a bpa free water bottle for toddlers? My daughter is 21 months old and I'm looking for maybe a sports cap type or straw. Maybe Foogo, Kleen Kanteen, or something else? What would you recommend?

I did see some older threads like this from last year but prefer the most up to date info an recommendations!

Thanks!

We love the foogos and have had no problem with my 1 yo using the straw ones. The other good ones are the kleen kanteen sippies, Sigg bottles, and I think crocodile creek has kids water bottles that are bpa free (they are stainless too I believe). If you want plastic, Born Free makes bpa free sippy cups as well.

I would hands down recommend the Kleen Kanteens. I have one for each of my daughters. They have a sippy cup top and a sports top also. I think the size I have for my girls is the 18 oz. which is just their size. I think an added benefit of the kanteen is that they drink a lot more water during the day. We just always make sure to keep it filled and in our bag! They love them!

My 20 month old has been using the thermos foogo/funtainers straw cups for about 10 months now. They don't leak, but he has figured out how to purposefully spill them...but all my kids have figured that out with any type of sippy cup pretty quickly, so it's not surprise.

My older kids, 6 and 5, use these as well...actually, so do dh and I.

We also all have a sigg bottle, but they don't stay cold long enough imo. I like my water COLD!

I love the thermos foogo/funtainers, personally. The foogo's have the anti-spill sippy cup insert, the funtainers do not, FWIW. Honestly I prefer the funtainers although I wish they had more without characters on it. I can put milk in it for my daughter and it stays cold all day. Awesome

[So the Kleen Kanteen sports top is ok for a toddler withiut getting water all over them? Can the open it themselves or is it not a big deal if they need it opened for them. The Thermos Foogo looks like they could do it all by themselves....

Have not tried it and usually avoid Wal-Mart, but our wal-mar has table set up right now that are "go green" items. They have a stainless steel waterbottle with a BPA free plastic flip up spout and they are only $4. I was in a hurry yesterday, but am goign back today to buy 5 of them, we have been using thermos containers for our girls, but could use a back up and Matt and I need them. && is too tight right now to buy 5 of the $15-$20 bottles, but at $4 each we can.

You can get a sippy top for the KK as well if you prefer. I don't know about the sports top, as it is new.

My 20 mo can open the foogo. But he can't open a pop up top on a different water bottle (which has the same type of mouth part on it as the sports top KK).

we have foogo straw cups and klean kanteen 12oz bottles with a sport cap not the sippy adapter for my almost-19-month-old. we've been steering away from sippys to straws/sport caps for a few months now

We love our Klean Kanteens, and my favorite part is that I can use Avent nipples and collars with the adapter you buy for the KK. Plus, we can use the adapter in any size (we have adult sized water bottles from Klean Kanteen too). So when dd was younger (a little over a year) andnot quite ready for the fast sippy top flow but still wanted water, we just popped an Avent nipple in there. Since they don't leak at all, we still use nipples for car trips.
