bra measurement question

403 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  DWAXSMOM
ok last night I was calculating my BMI and they wanted me to measure weird things (waist, hips, neck) and so while I was at it I measured my bust real quick...and according to my measurements I'm a 30D.

ETA-measurements-largest part of my bust was 34inches and where my band would go I measured 30 inches please tell me if I'm doing something wrong!

er...that can't be right can it???????????

I've never been able to wear a bra in the size that I "measure" to be. I maybe could wear it if I blow out all my air (so my rib cage is smaller).
I usually just have to try them on... and on... and on... etc.

oh ok...I was thinking that I am maybe a 32 cuz the 34s fit *barely* snug at the smallest setting. thinking maybe if I get a 32 and wear it at the biggest setting.

blah I hate bras.

Try a 32C on for size. One of the things sometimes recommended is that you add up to 4" to the ribcage measurement to get your band size. If your 34s barely fit, then look for a 32. "Proper" fit is in the middle set of eyes.

Every bra fits differently so try the 34 and the 32 in each. Remember to change the cup size as well. For example, a 34C should be around the same cup size as a 36B (in the same brand/style). After a month or two of nursing your band should fit in the middle of the hooks and eyes. Elle macpherson has really great bras (esp the Maternelle) that have 6 hooks and eye rows so sizing is quite easy.
