Brain Teaser Puzzle Resources

DD seems to be more interested in brain teaser type puzzles than jigsaw puzzles.
I'd love some ideas and/or links to some resources for some that your dc have enjoyed.

TIA!

I think that there was a post a few months back about sudoku puzzles with fun characters (like Dora the Explora). There are some great tangram puzzles out there too by Haba, Melissa & Doug and Mighty Minds, amongst others. Also look into the Froebel puzzles as well. I'll try to post links later, but my search engine is dragging right now.

We do have tangrams and Mighty Mind.
The reason I'm posting is because dd has been playing with one of dhs brain teaser puzzles. It's a set of wooden pieces that resemble lincoln logs. You put them together and they form a cube. This is way beyond dds level but she can get four or five pieces together so they hold and stay. I thought she might like something similar but it needs to be more on her level.

Thanks for all your suggestions!

My DS has had a love of all kinds of puzzles since he was very small. He's always been more into books and games though, not so much physical puzzles. I think we have every single brain teaser & puzzle book out there somedays
. I am not sure how old your child is, but I can tell you what my 11 yo has enjoyed so far

My DS does not like sudoku, but he likes crossword puzzles. We have all of the Everything Kids' Puzzle books. DS really liked them in Kindergarten & before. Usborne also has some that are very nice along the same lines as the Everything books. Also about the same time and up until about 2nd grade, DS loved those I Spy books. There is another series called Thinkers or something like that geared for kids that DS devoured... can't think of the right title right now though. Currently DS really likes those Time Life picture puzzles and Logic Puzzles (this one too). We have a huge collection of non-scary mystery novels for kids that DS loves to try to figure out too... if you want some suggestions I can certainly go upstairs and get a list

Have you seen these around? http://www.thinkfun.com/

We have several of these logic puzzle/games and the kids love 'em.
Oh Mindware.com is a great source. I would LOVE a gift certificate to that place...

Sorry it's taken so long to respond here. Easter has just been exhausting this year.

We love Think Geek, especially some of the tee shirts. We have looked at some of the puzzles/brain teasers there as well.

Gordian's Knot is exactly what we're looking for! I'll be ordering that today.

MindWare ROCKS! It seems they too have Gordian's Knot but, FYI, Think Fun has a better price. Haven't checked shipping yet but...

I don't know your family's feelings about video games, but my girls have been having tremendous fun with Professor Layton and the Mysterious Village for the DS. (To play this, you either have to be a fairly strong reader or have one on hand to help out.) It's full of that type of puzzle.

We also have great fun with some of the Everything books. Dd1 just finished with the Fairy one.
