I'm hoping between all of the great mamas here, we can figure out what's going on with dd. She's still pretty much exclusive, she eats some solids, but not a lot, and not every day. She takes two decent naps a day, usually from 1-2 hours each. She sleeps on a full size mattress that's directly on the floor. The problem is the evenings/nighttimes. She goes to bed okay, I just nurse her either in the rocking chair or in the bed, and she falls asleep, same as she does for naps. However, she's waking every 30-45 minutes, all night long. If I go in and nurse her, she goes back to sleep quickly, but won't unlatch. If I try to unlatch her (limp arm stage), she immediately starts fussing and rooting around for the nipple again. She's not really nursing, just using me as a pacifier. I don't have a problem with her using me as the pacifier, but I would like to have some time to myself. As it is, I'm trying to rush and get things done in between her 30 minute sleep sessions. It's frustrating, to say the least. Plus, dh and I are trying to plan an evening out, but with her doing this, there's no way. Just to refresh you, she's nine months, okay, about 9.5 months now. She waited until Daddy came home to start walking. She's now got it pretty much mastered, walking 8-10-12 steps before lowering herself to the ground, sometimes walking completely across the room. I thought that had a lot to do with her nightwakings, but it's been over two weeks now and it's still going on. The thing I don't understand is that she takes good, long, restful naps, wakes up in a good mood, seems refreshed, but at night, she's fussing, she's not restful, she's moving around and grunting and moaning in her sleep. She wakes in the morning cranky and needs an hour long nursing session in order to be in a decent mood. She isn't getting restful sleep at night. I've tried a nightlight, thinking maybe it was the light difference. I've tried not sleeping with her, maybe it was me, but ended up more exhausted from the running back and forth. I've tried different sheets on the bed. I've tried solids before bed, not before bed, early in the day, whatever. She eats, she doesn't eat, it doesn't make one bit of difference. I'm getting frustrated with this, and I can't figure it out. Do you have any suggestions, something I haven't thought of? I'd appreciate it!!
