That is a little spooky regarding the medications for seizures and heart conditions. The difference between theraputic levels and not enough to help is pretty small and if the generics aren't absorbing as well then it could be causing problems for people depending on them. Plus switching between different generic formulations can be problematic as well.
Of course, the insurance companies don't give a rip one way or the other. Goodness knows they hate paying for stuff already. They already give people a hard time for wanting name brand meds and the copays for name brand are much higher.
I pay $10 for a generic scrip and $20 or more for a name brand.
That said, I will still gladly get my generic ibuprophen and acetaminaphen because they all work the same for me.
