Active dry yeast -
Is one brand better than another? If so, why?

I know there is Red Star, Bobs Red Mill, Fleischmann's, Hodgson Mill, as well as generics.

I have never noticed a difference. Most of the time I buy yeast in bulk and find no difference between this and store brands.

^yep! I buy regular active dry flieschmans yeast by the pound ($2.40) & my bread is wonderous! I can't imagine the cost effectiveness of buying more expensive yeast...
