My bread in the bread machine turns out really good, but I was wondering if anyone had some tips for me. I'm going to purchase an electric knife to cut it to get it sandwich thin (hopefully that will work), but is there any way to make it so that the edges aren't so crispy? That's dp's only complaint.

I just made my first whole wheat loaf this weekend so I don't have many tips but I LOVE the bread. There is NOTHING better than fresh bread. I'm really looking forward to trying different bread and dough recipes. Mine machine has a crust setting on it from light to dark. I would guess that if you didn't want such a dark crust to turn the machine off a little earlier, if possible, if you don't have a setting.

Also, do you have any links or recipes you could share?

I picked my up at goodwill for $12 and I'm loving it. I find that if I bake the bread late in the evening and then store it overnight in a container, cutting it in the morning is much easier. Also using bread flour instead of all-purpose flour really helps the crust. I know, I'm a beginner.

Thanks for the links, krisnic!

I got my machine from a neighbor. He was wanting to get rid of it and so I graciously took it off his hands.
: So I got mine free. I love it. He didn't have directions for it but I was able to find them online. I'm at work right now so I can't recall the brand. But I think mine is a breadman as well.
