I absolutely love bagels!!! Does anyone know how or have successfully made their own bagels or english muffins (Like Thomas's brand)? We go through at least 6 bagels here a day, between breakfast & lunch. My 16yr old daughter and I could eat more, but we limit ourselves since they can get expensive. I have eaten more of everything lately and stay hungry but I am pregger's with #5. So any tips, recipes etc on how to make my own would be great. I make my own bread, but I yet tried making bagels and I don't know of any recipes. TIA

do you have a bread machine? we just inherited one and i've used it once (to make bagels)... they were *OK* not great. but perhaps it's something that would get better the more you did.

Yes. I use the Laurel's Kitchen Bread Book Roberta's bagel recipe. It is the closest to a New York style bagel I have been able to make. I have changed it to use white flour but they are yummy with whole wheat too.

Just checked out alsoSarah's link. The recipe is very similar to that!
