Breaking out!

438 Views 8 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  pumpkinsmama
I'm 8 weeks now and breaking out badly. This never happened with my daughter. Is anyone else or has anyone else broke out with their pregnancies? What was the sex of the baby? The reason i ask is that my symptoms this pregnancy are very different than my last and I'm just curious as to whether there is some odd correlation.

I didn't break out with ds, but I keep going through cycles of breaking out with this pg, which we think is a girl (although it could turn out to be a boy with a sense of humor!
). I also had a lot more m/s this time.

I didn't break out with my dd at all but with my ds I broke out bad the first trimester (it got better after that). This time I am breaking out some but not as bad as with my ds.
I broke out like crazy with my son! Cleared up like a week after he was born.
My skin was great when I was pregnant with ds but this pregnancy I have tons of acne and I look like cr*p. I'm almost 12 weeks along and I thought it was starting to get better but today I noticed 3 new ones...aargh. And I have much worse m/s...we'll see what this all means in a few weeks...
Someone told me that I was having girls because I was breaking out. Turned out to be right, but my mom had 3 girls and no breakouts ever. My OB says that it just depends on how your body handles the hormones and everyone and every pregnancy is different.
16 weeks. Expecting a girl. Breaking out like crazy. Sigh.
I've broken out this whole pregnancy, and what finally helped was the herbal liver support formula my midwife and the herbalist recommended. They said that sometimes the liver has a harder time doing filtration work during pregnancy due to the extra hormone load, etc. Toxins purge through the skin, and there you go, zits! So there are some pregnancy-safe herbal options for liver support (but be careful and consult a professional, as with any supplement), and I have to say it really worked for me. Treating the cause of the problem makes a huge difference. That plus probiotics, fish oil, and drinking enough water to float me away have been great for the skin and overall gut health.

ETA: I'm pregnant with a girl.

: ETA: I also had great skin with DS and at twelve weeks I have horrible M/S and look like crap! I feel like I've found a kindred spirit!
