I can only tell you my experience. When I had dd, I had gained 50 lbs. in preg. (and was a bit overweight before preg.). I lost 20 of that with doing nothing but nursing. Then (after a few months) I decided to start weight watchers. I chose them because it's a balanced diet, if you follow all the rules and they have a special "breastfeeding" program. I think the danger is if you try to diet like you regularly would and you don't get enough calories to support breastfeeding, you also don't want to go on say a low carb type thing because of the quick fat burn that releases keytones (sp?). Anyway, the weight watchers is the same diet, but you get more calories if you are nursing than you would if you weren't. (it's based on the weight you start out, how much you get to eat and then you add to that if you are nursing). I lost the other 30 lbs. this way with number 2 and she didn't suffer and it didn't pour off of me either...it was slow, but good. Just try to do it balanced and don't lose to much at once. That's MY opinion anyway.
