hi everyone! new poster here
(i've been floating around the UC and GD boards, but now that ds is 2wks old and we've been to our first LLL meeting, i suppose it's time to join on board here, too).
i asked the lactation consultant about this, but she had no clue. the whole time i was nursing dd i would often get this stabbing pain in my right breast. actually, it's like a mix between stabbing pain and dull ache. over the past several days it's started up again. it's only in the right breast and i can't find any cause or solution for it. with dd i tried cold copresses, warm compresses, pumping, laying on different sides, nursing from just that side, nursing from just the other side ... nothing worked. it does get worse when i lay on my right side (put any pressure on it). there aren't any lumps/clogged ducts; in fact, i can't find any ouside evidence at all. it's worse at night. sometimes it really seems unbearable and wakes me up and i just want to cry. have you ever heard of anything like this?! it never affected my nursing with lyla, but it sure would be nice to not have to deal with this for the next couple of years!
