There was some speculation last time as to whether the act of bottle-propping caused long-term stress. It seems it would, especially if most bottles were propped for any infant. The less they're held, the more anxious they become, and breastfed babies are usually held more.

We went by dh's work yesterday and his station commander said to me, "Does that baby ever cry? She is always smiling, I've never seen her upset." I just laughed and said, "Yes, she does cry." I knew I was doing something right

Yeah.. Every time someone says that I'm going to spoil him, I just look at him and watch him smile. Who can argue with that? Saying that he's spoiled, and no longer good, goes against everything that babies are. They're sweet, and cuddly, and wonderful. They're pure love and joy.

Sometimes I just can't immagine how a mother can fight the instinct to nurse their baby. I know that in the first few days when my milk came in, it was so heavy and emotional. I just wanted to nurse him forever. I still feel that way.

I just can't see it. I see how incredibly happy and healthy my little co sleeping, breastfed, unvaccinated, and intact son is, and there's no doubt in the world that I'm doing the right thing.

I also get that comment a lot. But I think the clue is also nursing on demand. When she is hungry, tired or just fuzzy, nursing always helps.

YEP!! You only hear babies cry when there is a need unmet.

Yuppers, we're still nursing on demand, aka "spoiling"
