Inspired by the Breastfeeding Cafe info on Mothering's Home page today, I was wondering if anyone knows of a breastfeeding moms group in the SE valley. I live in Gilbert and would LOVE to get together with other nursing mamas for coffee/lunch occasionally. Chandler, Mesa, Ahwatukee, even Scottsdale could work too . . .<br><br>

There are a couple options for you. The yahoo list AZMAMAS has a lot of natural mamas on it. Two women from MDC started the group. It is sometimes hard to find an activity, but if you suggest something you will have company.<br><br>
Also there is an EV AP meetup group. They have a lot of activities. Lots of nursing moms as well as moms with older one.<br><br>
Every 2nd Wednesday of the month, the local API meeting is held. It is a good way to connect with other like-minded parents. The group meets in Chandler.<br><br>

There is a breastfeeding Moms group in Gilbert organized by a lactation consultant. Her name is Doris Christianson and she is listed in the Yellow Pages. She does the "classes" from her house and they are free unless you want to have an hour long session with her.

There is always LLL!! I lead the Queen Creek LLL group. We meet on the 3rd Wednesday at 10 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. (Ocotillo Rd between Ellsworth and Hawes). Lots of moms have made friendships through this group.

I have just signed up for the az mamas group so I'll have to see if there are others who might like to get together on the weekends sometime.<br><br>

I'm in the same boat - working FT during the day - and miss out on a lot of the planned activities in the moms' groups... but I did want to mention that the East Valley AP playgroup (meetup.com group) has been scheduling a lot of evening and weekend events lately (which I hope to go to again soon).<br><br>
So that is probably worth a look... <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">
