Hi there,
I have been on Zoloft for two years now.I suffered from severe ppd after my daughter which went undiagnosed for 9 months and it wasn't until my marriage was splitting at the seams and i wanted to walk away from everyone and everything that someone got me help.
I have had my dosage upped three times and got to he point where i felt i needed a second opinion.we had moved so i found a very kind gp and after lots of q's recommended lexapro or something like that,i can't remember now.But the thing is my old doctor didn't tell me of the sexual side affects of zoloft .I just thought that i had turned into a old prude less than four years into our marriage.i don't want that anymore,i miss the intamicy with my husband
so he recommended wellbutrin.he was very sweet and looked it up but he said this is the only drug that doesn't have sexual sideaffects.then he said that it is not safe to BF on it.now i am not ready to give it up but i want the intamicy with my hubby.is anyone on here taking wellbutrin and still BF with their doc's consent? my doctor also said he would gladly have me take homeopathic remedies if i found one comparable,.
please any help and info will be greatly appreciated.I am currently weaning off the zoloft so i'm feeling very crappy right now,i need a boost
thanks ladies,
oh what a tough choice!

My dr put me on lexapro. The sexual side effects were bad but not as bad as what I had with paxil.

Did you check kellymom.com to see what they said? I thought wellbutrin was from hte same class as paxil, prozac and lexapro - BUT I am not an expert and I could be 100% wrong.

I breastfed on Welbutrin without problems. Had a great milk supply, and was very energetic. No problems with baby's growth or weight.

My best friend from highschool also took welbutrin while nursing -- she also had no problems whatsoever.

Hello! minimunklemama. While many moms have not had any adverse effects on wellbutrin, myself included, there is new research evolving.

Biggest question here is, how is your milk supply? Wellbutrin is now showing to lower prolactin levels & hence lowering milk supply. The actual milk transfer rate is pretty low, according to Dr. Hale.

You can check out his forums as a guest if you would like the link is:

http://neonatal.ttuhsc.edu/lact/html...ns_forums.html

Good Luck in what you decide.
