Here is the advisory I received today. If you are local to the DC area and can make it to Capitol Hill for the nurse in please email <a href="mailto:[email protected]">[email protected]</a> to confirm. I am trying to get them a head count so they can plan. Those who get in touch with me will get metro info and other last minute details sent as I have them. I helped organize this two years ago and had over 100 mothers attend. We'd like to get even more. This year we have a new party in power and the committee that would hold the hearing to move it forward is headed by a woman who is supposed to be sympathetic towards the bill. I think this Congress we really have the best shot we've had in a long time at passage!<br><br><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/winner.jpg" style="border:0px solid;" title="BFSymbol"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/winner.jpg" style="border:0px solid;" title="BFSymbol"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/winner.jpg" style="border:0px solid;" title="BFSymbol"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/winner.jpg" style="border:0px solid;" title="BFSymbol"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/winner.jpg" style="border:0px solid;" title="BFSymbol"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/winner.jpg" style="border:0px solid;" title="BFSymbol"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/winner.jpg" style="border:0px solid;" title="BFSymbol"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/winner.jpg" style="border:0px solid;" title="BFSymbol"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/winner.jpg" style="border:0px solid;" title="BFSymbol"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/winner.jpg" style="border:0px solid;" title="BFSymbol"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/winner.jpg" style="border:0px solid;" title="BFSymbol"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/winner.jpg" style="border:0px solid;" title="BFSymbol"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/winner.jpg" style="border:0px solid;" title="BFSymbol"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/winner.jpg" style="border:0px solid;" title="BFSymbol"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/winner.jpg" style="border:0px solid;" title="BFSymbol"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/winner.jpg" style="border:0px solid;" title="BFSymbol"><br><br><br>
NURSING MOTHERS TO BREASTFEED ON CAPITOL HILL<br><br>
Rep. Maloney Hosts PRE-MOTHER’S DAY NURSE-IN<br>
To Promote Right to Breastfeed<br><br>
WASHINGTON - Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) will host a Capitol Hill “nurse-in” on Thursday, May 10, 2007 to reintroduce her Breastfeeding Promotion Act, a bill that would protect the rights of breastfeeding mothers who return to the workplace after childbirth, and the health and well-being of their children.<br><br>
The Breastfeeding Promotion Act:<br>
•amends the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to protect breastfeeding by new mothers<br>
•provides tax incentives for businesses that establish private, lactation areas in the workplace<br>
•provides for a performance standard for breast pumps<br>
•allows breastfeeding equipment to be tax deductible for families<br><br>
Currently, 38 states and Puerto Rico have laws on their books protecting the rights of women to breastfeed. The Breastfeeding Promotion Act would move beyond the patchwork of state laws and establish a national protection for breastfeeding mothers.

Come on gals, who is going to be there? We need as many women as we can get. Also, plan ahead to stop to see your Senator and Representative at their office (best to call ahead so someone will be available to speak to you from the staff) after the event.<br><br>

I have had less than 20 responses so far. If you know anyone in the DC area close enough to get here please encourage them to come. Have them PM me to RSVP as well.<br><br>
