I've heard of the front milk being kind of "bluish" because of the protein, and when pumping, I find that the first few ounces to come out are bluish-green. At first I blamed it on my spinach-loving self, but then I read about the protein factor. If I completely empty my breasts, the hind milk is very white and creamy, and it usually offsets the blue/green color. I also read that eating food with a lot of color, such as blueberries, etc, can affect milk color. Either way, I am sure it is absolutely nothing to worry about.

good reasons for it to be green. I didn't pump much after my first child, except for when I was in the hospital with a serious infection when my youngest was still nursing. The ER staff had given me morphine when I was admitted and too ill to tell them I was BF'ing and when I pumped the next day to send milk home to my little one, it came out very green. I hadn't eaten anything for a couple of days, so I think it was the morphine that made it gree. Spinach is a much better coloring!

I used to take alfalfa tablets to boost my iron, and my milk wasn't the only thing that was green my dd's poop was a lovely shade of green instead of that yellow breastmilk color. She didn't seem to mind the taste, though.

In my experience, the milk from clogged ducts was greenish and salty and remained that way for a few days after clearing the clog. After that, back to normal old white. I always associated it with the infection clearing
