I need some breastpump advice.....

I have a Pump in Style...the problem is that it seems "pinchy" to me....it feels like it does when the baby has a lip tucked in. No matter how I adjust the shields. I don't get much milk when I pump either, and at this point I do not feel like I have a problem with my supply. I looked at ordering a different size of shields but it said that you didn't need large unless your nipples are the size of a quarter, and mine are not.

I was wondering if anyone had the same problems with the pump in style shields, and if maybe a different pump would work better.

Thanks,
You might try switching to the "Soft Fit" shields before you try switching to a different pump altogether. You could also try the larger ones even if your nipples are not the recommended size for that size flange. It may still help. You just have to kind of shop around a little until you figure out what works best for you. Every woman is different.

I've been having trouble with nipple soreness after pumping and have been considering trying the soft shields. If you use them, let me know how you like them!

P.S. the kellymom.com site that everyone around here recommends is just awesome. I recently went there looking for supply issue ideas and was very impressed. Good luck!

you also may wann try to turn down the suction a bit. usualllly you can lower the suction and raise the speed. this works well for lots ime.
