Breathability vs. waterproofness

What's the best compromise you've found between the two?

Mine is coverless or wool half the time, PUL the other half. But sometimes I think there ought to be a better solution than that.

I dont know of a perfect combo, but for me, natural fibers and breathability win out every time. Before I really knew about wool, I hated putting pul on dd, and usually ended up packing some doublers in her diapers and going coverless. Yes, even when we were out and about and in the car. I just imagined myself wearing pul over my underwear, and how uncomfortable that would be. Now I know with newborns it really is one of the best options for bf poo, and I will have some nb pul covers, but I will try to mostly stick with fitteds and wool.
Around the house, I'm all about breatheability. He goes coverless much of the time, and is in wool or fleece otherwise. He spends nights in fleece. When we're out and about we use PUL covers.
We do coverless or wool at home, with rare exceptions. The PUL is generally for going out, if we won't be hanging outside in the scorching summer.

We just started using a Motherease Airflow cover sometimes and I love that thing! It is great for going out of the house and getting both breathability and waterproofness. The downside is that I really only like it with fitteds and we only have 4. (but I am working on that problem
