Anyone here use the Britax Companion infant carseat and its compatible stroller? How do you like it? We just were given the Companion as a gift, and I'm thinking of getting the stroller. I understand it is compatible with the carseat but can it be used beyond that, just as a regular stroller, once the baby is no longer in an infant carseat?

thanks!

It looks like the Forerunner is the one that the carseat fits Britax link I don't love the looks of the stroller, so I don't think it'd be worth getting just because it matches the carseat. Of course, I've never used a travel system sort of thing; we're a convertable seat family.

oh, I like that one a little more, but still feel the same about it. I adore Britax for car seats, they'll all we'll ever buy, but prefer Maclaren's for strollers, they have the highest weight range and I have big kids

Actually BOTH the preview and the forerunner work as a travel system with the Companion. The preview is the umbrella style, the forerunner is a heavier stroller. My babe which I bought the companion for has not arrived yet, but we got the preview a few weeks ago and I've been using it with my toddler. I've been pretty happy with it. I don't have a lot to compare it to - previously we used a graco stroller travel system which is a much heavier bigger stroller. The preview is a lightweight umbrella stroller, so I'm already loving how much easier it is to move around. So far it seems very sturdy, durable and easy to maneuver. Its definitely harder to open/close than my graco was, but that's becasue its an umbrella and doesn't have all that internal gadgetry to make the open close easy. After using it a few times I find its not hard at all.

I really love the attached bag which you can zip off and take with you!

Personally I really loved having a travel system with my daughter. When they are so little and sleep a lot, I liked being able to just keep her snug in the carseat sleeping and transfer her to the stroller and go, whereas if I was to take her out of the carseat to sling her or put her directly in a stroller I would wake her up.

FYI - I also have a Graco DuoGlider and the companion snaps in the back spot just as well as the graco carseat.
