Hi NY parents!

I am desperate to find a new pediatrician who takes Aetna for my daughter before her 12 month well baby checkup. I am ok with vax (mostly ), but we are cosleeping and I am still night nursing (2 big no-nos with our current provider). We live in Riverdale, but are willing to travel a little (NY-Presby area to the south, Yonkers/Mt. Vernon/New Rochelle/Scarsdale to the north). If anyone has any leads, please LMK.

Thanks so much!

Hi! I'm in Norwood. Maybe this is too far away, but our kids just started seeing Anne Crenesse, a family practice doctor just barely in Brooklyn -- Court St. stop on the R train. She is amazing. I was very impressed with how she interacted with both kids (preschooler and infant). Re: your specific concerns, co-sleeping didn't come up, so I don't know for sure. But... she was recommended by my homebirth midwife and was cool with homebirth. She explained without any prompting from me that she uses only mercury-free vaccine and how she combines them, like she was seriously getting my informed consent. She asked if I was going to keep Eve latched on for the shots as if this was a normal thing (and then when it didn't work, she prescribed an anesthetic cream to rub on her thighs before the next visit!). When I told her that our first dentist had attributed older dd's cavities to night nursing, she seemed to dismiss that idea. So her overall crunchiness sympathy being high, I doubt co-sleeping would be an issue.

It was surreal. :LOL

Erin,

Thanks so much for your reply...she sounds so amazing! (ITA with the surreal!) But I do think Brooklyn (even close Brooklyn) would be a little far for us, especially for sick visits, etc. It took almost 12 months for the "out-of-sync with our pediatrician" feeling to overwhelm the "but it's a 5 minute walk" issue

I did get a line on dr in Scarsdale
