I am not sure if it is because of my last pregnancy (dd3 is 2 months old) but I am bruising very easily on my legs and the bruises are taking forever to heal. All the veins in my legs are right at the surface. I have those spider vein things and other purple veins that you can see but you can also see little red veins. I am bruising all over my legs. My arms are not having this problem with the veins and my arm had a bruise the other day that has healed. A leg bruise that I got at the same time that was not nearly as bad has yet to heal. I am not sure if it is because of the pregnancy swelling or something more serious. Anyone else ever have this?

Do you have other signs of vit C deficiency or adrenal fatigue? This is always my first thought when I hear things like this because it sounds like my own experience. I had a severe case of adrenal fatigue which caused pretty serious bruising on my legs (not the rest of my body for some odd reason). I would get about 5 new bruises daily without anything having to even touch my skin, and they didn't heal for months. In warm weather, people would literally gasp when I wore shorts and they saw my legs because so much of the surface area was bruised. After learning about my adrenal issues and how important vit C is for the strength of blood vessels (just google "bruising vitamin c" or something similar), I started taking 3000 mg of vit C/day. After 6 wks, I stopped getting new bruises. If I stopped or decrease the vit C, I started bruising again. After 6-8 months, I was able to stop the vit C altogether and the problem hasn't returned. Although adrenal and thyroid issues often co-incide, I think the bruising is more directly caused by adrenal issues since the adrenals are the users of vit C. HTH!
