I have tiny white flying bugs all over my vegetable plant leaves. What are they and how do I get rid of them. Also, could they be what is destroying my cucumbers. My cucumbers reach about 1/2 inch long and the either stop growing or disapear altogether.

White flies are hideous. Sooo hard to get rid of.

Since they're outside, maybe you could try ladybugs from the garden store? I had them inside so not an option. Google and check-this would be a great option if the ladybugs like them.

I used a natural pesticide spray every couple of days. Killed a few plants. Lots of yellow sticky traps. Have heard of people vacuuming them as they burst out in a cloud.

Soooo hard to get rid of entirely.
Good luck.

oh, they love aromatic plants.
Here's a website that sells beneficial insects along with other types of pest controls. They also have a list of pests and how to take care of them. Good luck

For whiteflies I have succesfully used sticky traps. They are *so* easy to make (although you can buy them in most garden centers). Take a piece of bright yellow paper (something like cardstock or posterboard is best - something heavy-weight) - or paint a piece of cardboard bright yellow. You want about a 5" square of bright yellow. Attach it to a small stick. Slather the yellow paper with vaseline. Stick the stick into the ground. The bugs will be attracted to the yellow, and then get caught in the sticky stuff. Works great!
