DD wants a dollhouse, not just any dollhouse, but one like a certain friend of hers has. This friend's dollhouse was made by her grandfather. The closest I can find to it is this one at Ebay. But it is WAY out of our price range, especially after getting furniture for it, too. DH is quite handy (machinist and boilermaker) but since he works with metal instead of wood, he is far too much of a perfectionist to take on this project without some plans and instructions. Anyone have any idea where I might find plans to build a simple, Waldorf-style dollhouse?

TIA!

Well, thanks anyway.

I found some inspiration for DH here and here
He came up with his own design (I knew he could if he wanted to) and construction is well under way!!

Thanks for posting those ideas

I found a half completed wierd doll house at a garage sale. It's wierd because it actually looks like a model for a real house, it has all the framing within the walls, and roof but never completed...I think this summer I'm gonna Renovate the little house LOL

I have to laugh cause it really looks like a House under construction. I think I'm gonna fill the walls with straw & try a cob finish, I'm gonna take off the roof, and use the rafters just to make a floor and a simpler roof to make enough space above for a little attic room...right now with all the rafters there is no room for nothing!

I found some doll house furniture at a local variety store 4 or 5 pieces for $6.00...

And I make & sell bendy dolls so I already have a family ready to move in!

Peace Lisa

The eBay one you linked to looks really simple and inspiring. That's exactly the kind of thing I had in mind for us to make at home. Now, I just hope we get around to it...
