We subscribe to a diaper service (prefolds) and have been using Stacinator wool covers.
I'm SO done with wool right now... I'm looking for something that's a little less bulky, has less wicking and is easier to wash (get stains out and doesn't need lanolinizing)
I'd prefer to shop locally, so I'd love to hear about the products that our diaper service carries: www.tinytots.com But, I'm open to shopping online too, if you've got a major fave!
TIA for all your help!

Many people love the Bummis Super Whisper Wraps. They seem to work well on most babies and come in cute prints. They fit well over prefolds (you can trifold or snappi).

Litewraps are good covers too that are a little less expensive. They tend to run quite large though, but do provide great coverage.

Proraps are liked by a lot of people too. More plastic-y feeling inside but a durable, reliable cover.

If you want something very basic and very reliable, the Bummis Whisper Pants nylon pull-ons work GREAT and are cheap. The only drawback to pull-ons is that you have to pull the baby's shoes and pants off to change the cover (and if it's poopy you can smear a big mess down their legs!). But they are very leakproof.

Those are the covers I've tried from what that site has. Since they are local to you maybe you could get a sampling and try a couple different kinds before buying more?

Great! Thanks! I'll check them out.
So, I've really only used the wool... Do these wraps need to be washed after each wearing, or can you use them for a while before washing? With wool, I alternate between 2 or 3 over the course of the day, allowing one to air out while another was in use. I only wash every 2 weeks or so, when soiled or when it needs to be lanolinized. Aside from lanolizing, is in the same with whisper wraps?
Thanks so much for the great suggestions!

You might consider just getting some prefolds with your new covers and washing on your own. It'd save you money over the diaper service. Check out www.little-lions.com because she's having a great sale on her prefolds. So pick up two or three dozen, a snappi or two (or pins, if you prefer), and the BSWW or proraps and you're set. Just wash every two or three days. Much cheaper and easier and better because you know what you're washing with.

You'd need to wash the bummis (or any non-wool covers) much more often than wool. Probably 2-3 wearings at most before it would start to smell like pee. Otherwise, you could use them the same way you've been using the wool (in rotation, letting them air dry between changes).

My favorite non-wool covers are the Nikky Breatheable poly wraps. We had wicking issues with Bummis due to the bindings around the legs, and I found they got stinkier much faster than our Nikkys.

HTH!
