I work full time and my DS is down to nursing about twice a day. He's sometimes still sleeping when I leave in the morning so it's mostly a couple of times in the evening and then more on the weekend. I'm going to a conference out of state in September for 5 days and am not sure how to handle it. I've always struggled to keep my supply up, but now that he's not nursing much I can tell it's decreasing. Not sure what 5 days away will do to it.

I went to the same conference last year and although it was stressful, I made pumping a big priority since he was only 6 months old and he resumed nursing with no problem when I got home, although my supply took quite a hit even with all of the pumping. I even figured out how to store the milk while I was in the hotel and bring it home.

I stopped pumping at work when he turned a year, but now I'm trying to decide whether to pull out my pump and drag it across the country with me or just take my manual pump or push to wean him before the trip. I'm not loving that last option, but am still thinking about it. The ironic thing about this is that one of my co-workers who is going with me has a 6 month old and she just told me today that her goal is to have her son weaned before the conference so she doesn't have to worry about pumping, plus he just got his first tooth, so it's "time."

You will need to pump. I went on a business trip when DD was that age and I pumped half a gallon. Imagine if I hadn't pumped that

I am on a business trip as I type and this is the first trip I haven't taken my pump. DD is almost 3.

So, with all of the new rules for flying, I'm struggling even more with this whole thing. If we keep nursing (which is the direction I'm leaning...) and I pump while I'm gone, will I have to dump it? I know I won't pump a ton, but it will be so hard to just dump it out everytime since it sounds like I won't be able to take it with me on the plane.
