That's what I saw on this site when I was looking for 12 month stuff. It says that by 12 months your baby is ready to be weaned from breastfeeding or bottlefeeding. Shocker... the sponsor is Nestle <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/dizzy.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Dizzy">:<br>
I can't find a contact us..<br><br><a href="http://www.yourbabytoday.com/features/dev_oneyear/index.html" target="_blank">http://www.yourbabytoday.com/feature...ear/index.html</a>

Clearly, they have not met MY babies who have no interest in being weaned at all.

With Nestle being the sponsor I can't say I am surprised...your baby is ready to be weaned when they give you cues....whether it be 12 months or 48 months or longer....<br><br>
I understand how many mamas would want to wean...some days when my dd chomps my nipple with her sharp baby teeth and I am in pain I have second thoughts<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/duck.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Duck">: .....but most days she look up at me with that cute adorable smile in the middle of a nursing session and I know that she isn't ready, i'm not ready, and i'll nurse for however long she needs me <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/love.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="love"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/love.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="love"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/love.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="love">

They are obviously incorrect. They haven't met MY daughter, who is 12 months old and doesn't even want solid foods. She wants to nurse, and is thriving due to breast milk. They haven't met my son, either, because he is still nursing at 2 1/2 years old and is reaping the benefits of extended nursing.

I think so. I couldn't buy canned pumpkin today in Whole Foods because it's made by Libby, owned by, you guessed it, Nestle. I despise them and walked thru the store telling my 5 y.o. why we couldn't buy it.<br><br>

Of course your baby is ready to wean at 12 months. Otherwise, they wouldn't be able to drink all that fantastic follow up formula that they NEED. Pediasure, anyone?<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/duh.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="duh"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/banghead.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="banghead">

I'm starting to think they do! I looked at Nestle's website for the brands that they own and OMG it's like every single brand name ever created, I think. Right down to bottled water and petfood

Also they need to meet my 28m.o. ds who will look at them like "why in the world would I want to wean so early?!.." <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">
