it would be interesting to see the rates pieced apart....<br><br>
who was a repeat c-section, how many were elective first-time moms, how many were 'medically necessary' without labor, etc.<br><br>
I wonder if ICAN would have these figures? Anyone know?

The idea of elective 1st timers is scary. If your baby is not in danger, why on earth would you choose to have your baby cut from your womb? <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/headscratch.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="headscratch">

See, deep down I was guessing it was the CDC because after all, labor and delivery so obvioulsy fall under DISEASE... <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/rolleyes.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="rolleyes">

NO breakdown as to elective/medical etc. but the primary rate is 19.1% .<br><br>
Edited to add: VBAC rate a dismal 10.6% !!!
