My ds (he is 2.5) and I are planning a 10th birthday party for our dog, Enid (a rotty). Anyone ever made a cake for their dog? Or have any ideas? Or any great party plans? I just thought it would be something fun to do in August, get people together, even though it is silly. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile"><br><br>

Happy birthday Enid! Sorry, I have no idea. We have a 10 year old rottie, too, though!<br><br>
Maybe a dog-friendly meatloaf with dog biscuits for candles? Our dog would love it, but her stomach is so sensitive it would be a bad idea. That's such a cute idea, though. If she's dog friendly, maybe you could invite her friends and their people and do something dog centered. Maybe keep it simple and just have family. Our dd had a Scooby Doo candle on her birthday cake this year. How about something like that?

We've made a meatloaf for our golden on her birthday. She loved it! She got a hefty slice over a few days so she had more of a birthday week <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/wink1.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="wink1"> We did a simple one, just ground meat (I think we used turkey last time), some breadcrumbs and a couple eggs. You could obviously make it more palatable for humans and share it with her. Prebaby our dearly departed poodle and her friend from Puppy Playgroup, Fezzik had a carob-banana cake. I think i did a search for 3 dog bakery and cake recipe. The group seemed to like it. As a plus it did have whole wheat flour. Gosh, what a different life I had before kids.<br>
