Calgary ladies: Need help finding Indian fabrics/sarees........

We are going to visit Calgary in May for a week. We were last there in 2003 and loved it. We plan on staying at a lovely B&B called Springcreek (not far from the airport.

Anyway, we bought some sari fabric at a place called Reena's. Gorgeous stuff, excellent prices and a really sweet staff. I bought a beautiful salwar that I've worn many times. We plan on going there again.

But, I know there must be additional stores that sell sarees and Indian fashion in Calgary!

Can anyone help me with some store names and locations? I would really appreciate it!

Also, we bought delightful pastries from a Chinese bakery in Chinatown. Incredible! Any other European-style bakeries/pastry shops you can recommend?

We are driving to Calgary, so getting around is no problem.

Thank you, so much, in advance!!

For pastries, the Ladybug Organic Foods bakery in the Calgary Farmers' Market has top-notch croissants (also hear good things about their lemon tart). Manuel Latruwe Patisserie is also known for very decadent breads, croissants, waffles, cakes, ice cream, etc. The owner of Ladybug used to work there, but they had a falling out...

For Asian treats, the new T&T Supermarket in Harvest Hills has the best steamed pork buns. They also carry an array of baked goods that are pretty interesting.

Hope you enjoy your visit to Calgary!

Wow, thanks!!!

We will most certainly check these places out. The Chinese bakery we went to was called the Bakery of Golden Happiness (I think!). It was just dreamy. Reminded us of the pastry shops in Paris (with an Asian twist, obviously!).

Also, do you know of any good Lebanese restaurants? We also love Greek food. And, if you know of a wonderful French place, please let us know about it!! They can be simple places or fancy, fancy, fancy. Ds is wonderful in restaurants and we are pleased to take him to more "adult" dining locales, as well as more family-oriented places.

Keep 'em coming!!
