Hi all!! Well, due to recent events and Hurricane Rita... we are relocating to Austin!! I am so excited!! We are in the process of finding a home and are hopefully going to be starting the move this weekend (hopefully to the Leander area). I would love for you all to let me in on any great AP playgroups/organizations around town or other hints and tips... I saw that API has several chapters around the Austin area. Has anyone attended any or founded any friendships from them? I am really hoping to find some friends with a more AP mindset in Austin. Of course, I am a very open-minded person and want exposure to diversity. But it sure would be nice to meet some people who felt the same way about child-rearing that we do!

Anyway... just wanted to "meet" all you other Austinites and hopefully meet up with some of you in the future!!

Hello!!! Welcome to Austin!

I hope your move goes well - there are lots of austin mamas around who are into the natural living. I just joined an API chapter and am very excited to meet some new people too.

We're new to Austin too (South Austin - Circle C area). I'm a SAH, AP, homeschooling Mom to 3 (6yrs, 4yrs, and 21 months). Austin seems like a great, fun family community and we look forward to exploring it.

Gwen

P.S. Any other SAH or homeschooling Austinites looking for playdates or group fieldtrips? Send us an email!

hi there, another Austin mama here! I don't know of any AP groups yet, we recently just moved back here, so I'm also interested in meeting other like-minded mamas as well. We're hoping to be buying a house soon, not sure what part of town well end up in, but probably central or south. we're in east austin now, walking distance to downtown and town lake, man am I going to miss this!

kansasgirlie: I have a 20 mo ds and am expecting at the end of Mar/beg. of April. We're up for playdates!

I really miss Austin. I am now living in Sweden but really want to keep ties in the instance that we move back 'home'. I will be an Austinite no matter where I move! It isn't so fair for me to put such high standards on everything by comparing it to Austin.... it is just hard not to

I am looking forward to talking with all of you about childcare, schools and your experiences with childbirth in Texas, etc-

Have a safe and unstressful move...if that's at all possible!
