I'm trying to lose weight right now, and calorie counting has been really helpful to keep me from overeating. However, I am EBF my 26 month old and am not sure how this changes my calorie needs. Most sources I've seen say that nursing mothers need 300-500 extra calories a day, but I would assume those are based on children under 1. Does anyone have any reliable sources on how nutrition needs are different (or the same) for those of nursing toddlers?

FYI My daughter goes to daycare full-time so does not nurse during the day on weekdays, but does nurse at night (a lot), in the morning, right after daycare, and an extra once or twice during the day on weekends.
