Note to moderators: I am posting this in the Parenting the Gifted Child Forum because the camp mentions that it has been mentioned by the National Association for Gifted Children (although I am not familiar with this organization)

Hello!

My dd's school sent home the registration form for this summer day camp.

Camp Invention Website

dd is finishing up K.

Is this a worthwhile use of my money and her time?

Do you have any experience with this camp, and if so, could you please tell me what you thought of it?

Thank you.

I would love to hear feedback as well. It looks really interesting, but I wonder how they maintain a high quality program with so many locations? If it is well run and has good staff, it may be a good summer option.

A friend of mine runs one of these at our local school. In our case, it is a good program, but she is a super star organizer. Each CI site has a volunteer who runs and coordinates the local program. (The same way that Hands On Science and Mad Science type classes are run.) So each program will only be as good as the particular person who runs your program and the people they are able to recruit to teach the classes and run the activities.

I would try to find people who have been to your specific program to get feedback.
