We are planning a camping trip in a few weeks and I have planned to definitely cd during. DD is nearing 6mo and has been in cloth since her first dipe and I don't wanna buy sposies. Anyway, we are going to a lake with some family. Not sure how many days, depends on how well dd does, but probably no more than three, so I will not have to wash while there.

The place has running water and electricity. I am thinking about what to do with my wet dipes. I really think putting them in the wetbag to sit in the heat and humidity (we are in the south) is not a good idea.

When we camp, we always have a clothesline for bathing suits etc. Would it be a good idea to hang the wet (peed in) diapers in the line to dry before putting in the wetbag to take home and wash? Or is that unnecessary? I remember last year when my ds had an accident on or sheet while camping we "aired it out" on the clothesline, then packed it up and it was fine when we got home. What do you think? And if I am doing that with the wets should I try to rinse the poops and dry them?

Does no one know if line drying unwashed (pee) dipes is a good idea or not?

They may still stink but I'm almost sure they won't stink as bad as wet dipes. I have never done it myself but I don't think there would be a issue with it.

Have fun camping, we are going this summer and I can't wait!

I think it would work well. Less stink and mildew later! Good thinking.

What do you plan to do with poopies? (Not sure if you LO has started solids, though) I can't remember what we did about that before. I think I used liners, but don't remember well...

I think it's a great idea to dry them on the line.

If you have the time/gumption - you could always rinse them out first too.

I rinse and hang to dry when we are camping or travelling. And if possible wash by hand the pee pee diapers and then dry so I can use them again - especially when we are camping for longer than the weekend.

Thanks everyone, thats what I'll do then. Still not sure about the poopies. She may be"dabbling" in solids at that point, but I doubt it will change the ebf poop much. There is running water availible but it is shared between campsites. Not sure of the etiquette of that....
