Sometime, we are going to visit DH sister in Portland and the Dalles is about halfway for us, I think.

What are some good camping spots near there?

do you want "real" camping with not many people around, or a more popluar campsite? There are some good campsited in the gorge, just west of Hood River. There isn't a lot around the dalles, unless you head south and west up into mt. hood national forest (where i live

) Camp Baldwin area, off of highway 44 has some good spots for "real" camping.
