Can a carseat install be too tight? I posted awhile ago because I was having trouble getting a rear facing seat installed tight in the middle seat of our new car. It has too be in the middle as there are two kids in boosters on the sides. Anyway I got some great tips. I did as suggested and it definitely tightened up alot. So much so that the seat has scrunched up under it a bit where the belt is pulling from behind the seat back underneath, kwim? Is this ok? I can try to describe it better if need be

Pics would help, but I don't think you can have it *too* tight
unless ofc you can't get it back out--that would be a problem!

I've asked this before, and I'm fairly certain I was told that there is no such thing as a car seat being too tight.
Now, I'm also pretty sure it has damaged the seat that it's in- even after we moved the car seat to a different position, the original place that the seat was in the latch plates are obviously visible (they should be hidden) and can poke you if you sit in front of them.
I started to compromise by loosening it a little bit- it still doesn't move 1/2" so it's definitely tight enough. But it pushes down on the seat a tad bit less.

I don't know if that's a good idea, but it's tighter than the manual says, so I figure it's all good.
