I'm nursing my 18 mo old and want my AF back so that I can TTC this summer. I don't want to stop nursing or night wean. Is there anything I can do?

There's a good chance it will come back on its own sometime soon, even if you don't change anything.

Or you could try gentle ways to space out nursing -- like maybe going out for dinner and a movie with your DH?

Everybody has a tipping point, where they switch back to being fertile again. But everybody's is different, so it's hard to say for sure.

For me, the first time around I got mine back at 16 months. This time I've gone almost 28 months. I think the difference was that the first time I started working two nights a week, which entailed 5-hour separations, and that was enough to make a difference.

Hi, I can totally relate. I`ve just got my period a few days ago after 18 months. I`m actually not sure what made the difference but I did try spacing out nursing a little more. My little guy loves to nurse so it`s been really hard to distract him.

I think for many night weaning is the key. See here for more info:

http://www.kellymom.com/bf/normal/fe...y.html#achieve

She'll go as much as 8 hours without nursing at night. How many hours do you think are neccesary to get ovulating again?
