DS is in daycare and he REALLY wants cow milk. He's had tastes before, but never milk by the cup full. The first couple weeks of daycare have been rough on him- viruses, loose poops, a couple days of constipation. It's hard to know what's causing what. All of DH"s side of the family have dairy sensitivities. But he's also eating more processed foods, white flour, preservatives, and sugar than ever before.

Can I dilute BioK to make "milk" for DS (he loves yogurts, BioK, cheese- he seems to be better with milk products than milk). If not, maybe I'll try adding yogurt to his milk, I've heard that helps break down the lactose....or pick my pump up and start pumping to send some breastmilk if need be.

I'd be fine with him just not having milk since he's still breastfed, but he wants what the other kids are having, and they have it twice a day.

As it stands he's lost all control of his bowels thanks to diarrhea. He was sick a few days ago, but I'm not sure it's still sickness-related.

what about kefir? you can buy it already made or make it yourself. it pretty much tastes like yogurt, and you can sweeten it if you want.

What on earth is Bio-K?

I think I'd send him with some kind of alternative milk to drink while his buddies are drinking cow's milk- breastmilk if you can pump enough or rice milk. Nutritionally, rice milk is more like juice than milk, but if he's getting plenty of mama milk that shouldn't be a major concern.

Both of those are great ideas! I didn't even think of kefir!

I'll look into rice milk, I know I don't want him drinking soy.

Ruthla, http://www.biokplus.com/Products.asp...3654&lang_id=A. Basically a fermented milk product with LOTS of probiotics.
