We've been part time EC'ing my 6 month old for a while. We had several weeks of no poopy dipes (though the last week we've had at least one poopy dipe in every load of diapers). We're also going on vacation next week so I am counting on little to no EC'ing while we're gone. If she doesn't go on vacation (I plan on offering the potty to her, but am not planning on her going with all the different places we'll be going, etc.), would it be too much pressure to start her up again when we return? She'll be close to 7-mos old then. She's going to be in disposables while we are gone so I'm guessing she'll be less aware of eliminating after two weeks in sposies. If we do want to get back to part time ec'ing how would you suggest we go about it? She doesn't go diaperless now, but is often in just a fitted or gerber training pant with no cover. She rarely signals to me when she has to go, she just seems to go whenever I put her on the potty. Any tips, advice on how to get back on the EC bandwagon after our vacation, or should I just pack away the potty until she's older?

TIA!

Don't give up on it. My dd is 7 months now, we do the part time EC thing. She almost always poops in the potty and sometimes pees. I went through a month period where I couldn't take her much because my wrist was bothering me. I only took her maybe 3 times a day or if she was really fussing and farting.
She didn't "forget" how to go. Take your potty with you and offer it in the morning and before bed and maybe again if you really know she needs to go. Then when you get home just resume. If she arches and screams, then maybe take a break for a few days.
That's my opinion. HTH, Corrie

Oh good! I'm glad to know that she may very well remember and still love going on the potty when we get back from vacation!

I definitely wouldn't give up. Ditto to the above; take the potty, offer her chances to go when you're out and about, don't stress about misses, and pick up where you left off when you get home.

I have found that travelling can throw my ds off even if we're still using CDs, but it's mixed - he stays dryer longer when we're out and about, and likes the novelty of peeing over a public toilet (esp. if dh does it). He also used to poop predictably in the mornings, so we could always catch the poop before we left the house or hotel room. So some trips we've had great EC success with, others we haven't.
