I recently stopped eating it as I read that BF babies can get the mercury that is in the tuna from your bm. I was eating it 1x a week. Should I continue to not eat it?

I don't know, but I eat it almost that much. for me it is a good source of protein since we are a little broke right now.

Well I read this article on vaccinnes in a magazine and it was talking about how there is more mercury in your breast milk than in a shot??? Seemed wrong but that is what it said and it said women who eat tuna will pass on more mercury to their BF baby than a shot would.

Uugghh was that in parent’s magazine? Check out the vaccine forum. We have a big thread on that article and all the inaccuracies of it.

I will be honest and say I cut out tuna while breast feeding. I am trying to keep my mercury levels very low and I have no way of knowing where the tuna came from and how much is in it. But there are tons of cultures that eat fish every day and they are just fine so who knows…..

Yes, it was in the Parent's Magazine. I guess I will cut out the tuna then. I don't really need it and can find other things to eat.
