Hi Ladies! If there's a more appropriate area for me to be introducing myself, I must have missed it, I'm sorry!

I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I'm Lydia. I'm a 20 year old mom of a 16 month old boy, Noah and pregnant with number two. I'm married to my husband, Josh for going on two years. We live in central IL.

I'm planning a home birth with my fantastic (and illegal =D) midwife. Having an illegal midwife is probably the most "rebellious" thing I've ever done.. my husband gives me a hard time for it.

Anyway, just wanted to say hello! I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Sorry, you could only join during open enrollment, and that ended on 12/31.

Can you tell I've been sealing with crappy insurance?!?!? Welcome to the August DDC! I hope you have an uneventful pregnancy! Did you have Noah at home as well?

lol, you scared me! I thought you were serious! I'm sorry you've been having insurance battles! =( Yuck!

I had Noah in a hospital. Fortunately, there weren't many unnecessary interventions or pain meds really forced on me. I got there late in labor, so that made things go pretty smoothly. I wish I had known how fantastic and safe home birth can be, or I'd have probably tried for it. Can I use the excuse that I was 19 an uneducated? =D

Sure, if I can use the excuse that I was 26 and uneducated when I had Keith in a hospital, AND went in for an induction :

lol, absolutely! That always makes for an interesting conversation, doesn't it? People ask "What made you go for a homebirth this time?" "Well, I got educated and now it's the only logical choice for me." They tend to shut up fairly quickly after that!

Welcome!

I was induced the first time at 23, and even almost dying in the hospital and almost losing my baby during birth didn't scare me enough. . . . I was induced again at 25. What was I thinking?

This time, I'm having a home birth, and I have absolutely no qualms about it. I'm so excited.

Eeek! I'm so glad you two made it out healthy. Is this your first non-induced labor, then? I bet it will be really different experience this time! If you can take an induction, you can take anything!

Welcome Lydia!

We were lucky, too, that we arrived at the hospital too late for any real interventions, and this one will be our first HB too.

Welcome! It will be fun to get to know you better these coming months! How are you feeling?

I'm feeling wonderful unless I'm changing a poopy toddler diaper or I have to empty a sippy cup of old milk. Otherwise, I don't even feel pregnant!

Last pregnancy, I didn't know I was pregnant until the start of the 2nd trimester, so I have pretty easy pregnancies!
