Is there any reason why a probiotic would make dd's reflux worse? I started her on the hypoallergenic probiotic from kirkman labs yesterday due to ongoing problems with blood in the stool. I have been on an elimination diet for over a month and did not add any new foods yesterday. She had terrible reflux all night and all day today. The only thing I can think of that I did differently was add the probiotic. Do you think it is a coinicidence?

My ds had worse reflux when I gave him probiotics that weren't dairy free. I kept thinking it was a coincidence until it dawned on me it was the dairy. But it sounds like yours are already hypoallergenic. But if nothing else is different, I would suspect the probiotics.

It seems like I read somewhere that probiotics were acidic?? I have no idea if that is true or not. As long as they really are allergen free, I might try a tiny dose to start.
Also, just wanted to pass along that seabuckthorn berry seemed to do the trick for my dd's reflux.
I'm sorry your ds has reflux, I hope he gets relief soon.

Thanks so much for the advice. I didn't give the probiotic yesterday and there was an improvement. I'm wondering if it is the inulin in it that is making her more gassy. I think I will give her a couple of days off and then try a smaller dose.
