I am really needing to know the true answer to this question. If you start taking the progesterone cream on cycle day 12, and then you immedietly notice a thermal shift the next day or within a couple days, would this be from the progesterone raising the temp OR WOULD IT BE TRUE OVULATION?

I realize that some poeple recamend using it after O only, but I want to know if you use it on cycle days 12-26, like DR Lee says, does that mean your Ovulating, or is the shift from the Progesterone cream?

I would really appriciate some help!! Thanks!!

The time I used progesterone while temping I never noticed that it bothered tempd any.

Are you using natural progesterone?

Im not using it now, but I may start Progon B, a sublingual progesterone or the cream..?? I just need to know if using the cream before O will make your temp go up and make you think you O'ed when you didnt??

I'm a natural progesterone cream user for several months now. It has not caused a fake ovulation thermal BBT shift for me at all. I had flatline temps for several days before I started taking it again (I stopped for awhile during my m/c). It caused it to go up and down like normal and then I had my ovulation BBT shift a few days later. I'm going to be trying the Progon B this cycle too just to see how I like it.

The first time I ever felt O was when I took the natural cream.

I took PRogon B with my last pregnancy and I had a hard time taking it once morning sickness hit. Next time I think I will just use cream

So your saying you took the cream/Progon B before Ovulation and you still Ovulated?

Thats great! But Ive read that if you use the cream before O, it can suppress O?? What does that mean? But some women who do progesterone cream shutdown (Natural Progesterone Cream for days 5-26 for 3 cycles) sometimes WILL OVULATE AND EVEN GET PREGNANT WHILE on NATURAL PROGESTERONE CREAM!!!! So I guess if women can get preggos while on the cream totally, Then you can Ovulate while on the cream too!!!

Its that I get so much conflicting information!

I think it depends on how much cream you're using, what the dosage is, and how your body responds to progesterone. It is in fact true that progesterone supplements taken before a confirmed ovulation can very easily suppress or delay ovulation. But the cream alone is a very low concentration so it would also make sense that it might have no effect on the O date (although I wouldn't purposefully start it before unless there's a reason to). I started prog. cream a few days too early one cycle and still got pregnant, although I did miscarry. However, like I said, I'd never intentionally start the cream before ovulation.

I took ProgonB last cycle, and I think it suppressed ovulation. I waited til I was sure I Oed this cycle before taking it. HTH!

Well I am not ovulating or menstruating at all...Thats the problem. I had one period this year and thats all. I took the progest sublingual progesterone, and it brought on AF.

I am getting so sick and tired of waiting on AF and Ovulation.

I am taking Herbal Hormone balance tincture and a very low dose of progesterone.

Anyone else have any comments on this?
